Sellers with a highly desirable property are in\u00a0control of the market.<\/p>\n But for condos and townhouses<\/strong> \u2013 especially those a little off the beaten path, or with\u00a0some funky features \u2013 it can be quite a different story. Prices were down in certain\u00a0areas of Detroit, but seem to be rebounding as the rental market increases.<\/p>\n Investment properties are in demand.<\/strong> The massive amounts of foreign cash flooding\u00a0in to invest in US real estate have impacted the Sterling Heights market in unique ways.<\/p>\n Overall, those people in a position to pay cash for properties have been picking up\u00a0the good deals in the marketplace.<\/p>\n Lots of sellers are trying out speculative prices just to see if anyone bites, but most\u00a0investors are walking away from deals that don\u2019t pencil out.<\/p>\n Financing is still a major obstacle for buyers.<\/strong><\/span> Banks are being incredibly strict,\u00a0requiring lots of money down and even changing their terms at the last minute.
